What is Donna Glove's intended use and features?

The purpose of the Donna Glove is to provide an effective device that can be easily used with one hand while being worn like a glove, increasing the sense of touch and palpation.

Donna Glove consists of three layers of polyurethane membrane as upper, middle and lower layers.

About Donna Glove's approved activity

The effectiveness of the product to determine the relationship between breast self-examination and the different methods for the actual presence of breast lumps was determined by the studies that started in October 2006 under the leadership of Dr.L.Meggioini at the Sapienza University of Rome, Prof.Dr. S.Verardi and Prof.Dr. Tested by O.Buonomo until August 2007. Clinical trials have been conducted to determine the relationship between different methods of breast self-examination and the actual presence of breast masses.

In the studies conducted by the Ostetrics, Gynecology and Chest Pathology Department of the Umberto 1 Polyclinic of the Sapienza University of Rome between 2006 and 2007, in which volunteer patients were included, clinical tests including the use of Donna Glove® were carried out.

Clinical tests were started, in which 108 patients were divided into two equal groups. Group 1 used the Donna Glove as a class medical device designed to increase palpation sensitivity. The aim here is to determine if an improved tuber detection rate is achievable. Group 2 continued to perform breast self-examinations with bare hands. At the end of a 6-month mid-follow-up period, 84% of all patients observed the reoccurrence of the lumps, which was confirmed by mammography. Lump recurrence was observed in 45 patients equally in both groups. In Group 1, 45 were found to be positive, which is a 100% detection rate. In Group 2, however, only the 22nd positive finding was detected while failing to detect any lumps present. The percentages of patients who followed were also confirmed by this mammogram.

Although the results are extremely striking, a success rate of up to 84% has been achieved in the use of Donna Glove. On the other hand, the group that continued to diagnose with the bare hand achieved only 41% performance. As a result of the study, it was successful in detecting the masses in 100% of the patients using Donna Glove. However, 52% of the patients who performed the self-examination with bare hands encountered problems in detecting the masses.

All of these draw attention to the strikingness of the fact that up to 90% of breast cancer is noticed by the individual for the first time. Donna Glove is based on scientific data of locking and magnification. In other words, thanks to the device, while the function of locking the mass and needle-like formations at one point is created, the combination of pressure application reduces the obstacles to a successful diagnosis.

The researchers agree that potential breast cancer patients in this population  with regard to breast self-examination with gloves, a greater early detection and more effective result of cancer lumps than examination with bare hands, and they draw attention to the importance of early diagnosis in increasing the chance of survival in treatment.
